Grandma’s Molasses Fruitcake

Delicious fruitcake sweetly enjoyed by family & friends!

2 Oranges

1 Cup of Molasses

15 oz raisins

8 oz dates

Place in Blender.  Chop well then bring to a boil on stove top.  Simmer 5-10 minutes.  Set aside.

Beat following ingredients in a separate bowl then add to creamed mixture alternating with the OJ.

32 oz glace fruit mix

1 1/4 Cup granulated sugar

1 Cup Butter

6 eggs

3 Cups Flour

1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1 tsp. Nutmeg

1/2 tsp. Allspice

1/2 tsp. Ground Cloves

1 Cup orange juice

2 Cups of nuts

Powdered Sugar

Stir in Nuts to batter then divide into pans.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Makes 1 bundt cake pan, and 2 dzn cupcakes or 8 mini loaves.  Bake at 300 degrees
